NEW FINANCIAL YEAR, NEW SALESFORCE OPPORTUNITIES!

TIPS ON ATTRACTING THE BEST TALENT AND SECURING THE RIGHT ROLES

Happy new financial year! How will you look back on ‘23-’24?

As the leading Salesforce recruiter in Australia, we’ve been riding the same rollercoaster that the entire industry has been on these past 12 months.

While there have certainly been more ups and downs than in previous years, many of us have forged ahead with an enduring sense of optimism that things would start to pick up as 2024 went on.

So, has that time arrived?

Let’s just say it’s okay to feel cautiously optimistic. If the number of job ads and applications coming to me is any indication, then the industry’s vital signs are looking healthier than they have been at any time over the past year.

And with new FY budgets coming online, businesses are on the lookout for skilled talent to build their best teams possible in order to deliver new projects.

Whether you’re striving to attract top-tier talent or a candidate ready to make a move, I’ve collated these insights to help you stand out on both sides of the fence.

CANDIDATES:

1. Stand Out in the Crowd (and to AI)

In a competitive job market, making a strong first impression is key. Tailor your resume and LinkedIn profile to highlight relevant skills and experiences. Use keywords from the job description, as many companies use AI systems to screen applications. For example, if a job requires experience with a certain cloud or product, make sure that phrase is in your resume.

2. Apply to Jobs that Match Your Skills

Focus on roles where you meet the mandatory criteria. Applying for every job you see isn’t effective. Employers are less likely to consider candidates who don’t fit their requirements. If you’re overqualified, emphasise your genuine interest in the role and your commitment to the company to ease concerns about you being a flight risk.

3. Be Upfront About Your Motivations

New to the ecosystem? Be honest about why you’re interested in a Salesforce career. Whether it’s a passion for technology, a desire for career growth, or an interest in innovative business solutions, if you know what makes you tick, it will help prospective employers understand your goals and assess whether you’re a good fit for their team.

Hot tip – If you are new to the ecosystem but finding it hard to land your first role because you don’t have hands-on experience, head to one of the Salesforce nonprofit user groups and volunteer your services.

4. Follow Up If You Don’t Hear Back

It’s normal to face delays in the hiring process — especially in this job market. While the roles are out there, I’m getting hundreds of applications. If you don’t hear back within the expected timeframe, don’t hesitate to follow up. A polite email or LinkedIn message can show your continued interest in the position and keep you on the recruiter’s radar.

5. Be Patient

The Salesforce job market is picking up, but patience is important. Stay optimistic and persistent. While the right opportunity might take some time, your dedication will eventually pay off.

EMPLOYERS:

1. Use a Proven Salesforce Recruiter!

Yep, this is a hill I’ll happily die on — the less time you spend screening, interviewing, and shortlisting, the more time you spend on your core business.

CalibrX has access to a vast network of talent, and we can build your ideal team without you having to lose focus on what you do best.

Case in point: we recently had a client approach us with the urgent task of recruiting 15 x Salesforce professionals across multiple disciplines after they won a new enterprise project contract.

The sheer numbers and resources that otherwise would’ve gone towards that selection process is enough to give even the best HR teams sleepless nights. We leveraged our network, provided the customer with the right profiles, and helped them save time in the screening processes so they could focus on their day to day work.

2. Create a Positive Work Environment

A positive company culture is a big draw for top professionals. Foster an environment that values teamwork, innovation, and work-life balance. Highlight your company’s culture in job postings and during interviews to attract like-minded individuals.

3. Provide Opportunities for Growth

Ambitious professionals want roles where they can grow and advance their careers. Offering clear career progression paths, ongoing training, and opportunities to work on exciting projects can make your company more appealing.

4. Showcase Your Company’s Success

Highlight your company’s achievements and impact to attract top talent. Share success stories, case studies, and testimonials from satisfied clients and employees. Demonstrating your company’s stability and growth potential can make it a more enticing prospect for job seekers.
